Yumi Bear Sour Watermelon protein gummies in a bowl
Our Story

A Snack, Not a Supplement

Most protein brands start with the protein and work backwards — cramming macros in and hoping flavour can hide the damage. We started somewhere different.

We asked one question: what makes a gummy bear genuinely great? Then we built backwards from there — and happened to make it high-protein, high-fibre, and low-sugar in the process.

The result tastes nothing like a supplement. Because it isn't one.

The Problem

Why Protein Snacks Usually Taste Like Protein

Whey isolate has a distinct dairy-ish, chalky flavour. No amount of "tropical punch" or "blue raspberry" fully masks it. You tolerate it. You don't crave it.

That's fine for a post-workout shake. It's not fine for a snack you're meant to actually enjoy. We decided "functional" and "delicious" don't have to be mutually exclusive.

The Formula

The Texture That Changes Everything

Real gummy bears need real gelatin. Squishy, bouncy, bitey — the kind you want to squish between your fingers before eating. Most protein gummies skip this and use rubbery vegan substitutes.

It also has zero protein aftertaste — which means the only flavour you're getting is the one we designed. Sour watermelon. Cola. Peach fizz. Not "berry blast gym blast."

What's Actually Inside

Four ingredient decisions that separate a real snack from a dressed-up supplement.

🐟
Marine Collagen
Not whey. No dairy taste. Neutral flavour that lets the real fruit flavours shine through. Also supports skin, joints, and gut lining as a bonus.
No protein taste
⚙️
Complete Protein
Collagen alone is missing leucine and tryptophan. We add them — making it a complete protein that can trigger muscle protein synthesis. 10g per serve.

🌿
IMO Fibre
Most high-fibre snacks use chicory root (inulin) — effective, but notorious for wrecking your gut. We use isomalto-oligosaccharide. Gut-friendly. 21g per serve.

Natural Flavours & Colours
No neon-bright artificial dyes. Our gummies vary slightly in colour batch to batch — because that's what happens when you use real natural colourants. We're fine with it.

Our Philosophy

"Snack-First" Actually Means Something

We compete with Allen's and Haribo, not protein bars. If it doesn't taste like something you'd actually grab at the shops, it's not good enough to put our name on.

The Questions We Actually Get

Can protein gummies replace my shakes? +
Not if you need 40g of protein in one hit — eat some chicken or have a shake. But if you're using shakes as a snack to hold you over, Yumi Bear does that better and actually tastes good.
Why is there colour variation between bags? +
We use natural colourants, and one of our ingredients (tryptophan) naturally mutes colour slightly. This means our gummies aren't neon-bright. We could switch to artificial dyes and get perfect consistency — but then we'd be just another brand pretending to be natural.
Why collagen instead of whey? +
Whey has a distinct dairy-ish taste that no flavour can fully hide. Marine collagen is flavour-neutral — so the only thing you taste is the actual flavour we designed. Plus it supports skin, joints, and gut lining as a bonus.
Are Yumi Bears vegan? +
No — and we're upfront about it. Real gummy texture needs real gelatin. If you need a vegan option, we're not your snack, and that's okay. We'd rather be honest about it than make rubbery vegan substitutes and call it the same thing.
Will 21g of fibre wreck my stomach? +
That's the chicory root problem — we don't use it. We use isomalto-oligosaccharide (IMO), a prebiotic fibre that's significantly gentler on your gut. No mid-meeting bathroom emergencies.
